While Watching TV...

My Apartment Reno is DONE!!

Alright… pause the tape. My apartment reno and painting project is officially DONE. Now I’m in the fun phase—decorating, sewing pillow covers, hanging art, and adding all the little touches that make my palace feel brand new.

How am I powering through all of this? Easy. I turn on YouTube, let my favorite creators run in the background, and knock out as many tasks as I can. I’m slowly finding the perfect pictures for the walls, steadily finishing my sewing projects, and rapidly donating every last decluttered item that no longer fits the vision.

My renewed palace is giving me life.

Alright… back to the magic.

Mood: Sleepy But Trying to Crush It...

I think I overdid it this weekend, because Monday night I didn’t lift a single finger in my palace. Now it’s Tuesday evening, and I managed to make and hang the curtain in my new dining area. I even started getting my office decorated and sorted out.

But wow… I am
so sleepy. I can’t do nearly as much as I want. Work was working today, and now I’m about two seconds away from falling asleep where I stand.

Bringing Comfort Right Now…

Happy Monday!

My apartment reno is officially DONE — every room is painted, refreshed, and ready for decorating. All that’s left is staining the front door and giving the carpet a deep clean.

I’m beyond happy. This whole project has brought me so much comfort. Out with the old paint and in with the new: bright, white, clean, and fresh. And the best part? I spent under $200 on paint, supplies, and a brand-new comforter set. I just need to grab the $10 stain for the door and rent the carpet machine for about $35.

Now it’s on to the fun part — decorating. My theme is space with sun, moon, and stars accents, and I want everything finished by my birthday on August 8th.

Right now, I’m comfortable, content, and absolutely loving my freshly painted palace.

A Messy Desk...

It has been a week, and I meant to blog yesterday, but I was way too out of it to string a sentence together. I’ve been deep in my palace reno and wrapping up #The100DayProject, all while trying to adjust to being back at work. I returned on Wednesday, and catching up has been rough.

Tomorrow is Friday, and thankfully, I’m only working a half day. After that, I’m free to head home, paint both the dining room and living room, and start pulling the office together.

A longer blog is definitely coming tomorrow — squeezed in between all these home projects I’ve got going.

Now let me get in this bed and call it a night.

Things That Make Me Happy…

Happy Saturday!

OMG… I did it. I finally finished restoring my console television cabinet, and it looks incredible. Fresh stain, modern TV installed, the whole transformation complete. This cabinet used to be my living room bar, but deep down, I always wanted it back as a working console television. I already had the perfect flat screen in my bedroom, so last night I stained the cabinet, and today I installed the TV.

The installation was definitely not a walk in the park. I had to rig up cables to secure the base inside the cabinet, then hook up every device—including the Roku. But everything turned out GREAT. I still want to grab some industrial Velcro to lock the TV in place a little more securely.

And on top of the console, I finally built my “Dream Set-up”: two CRT televisions, a Blu-Ray player, a surround-sound unit, and a digital antenna so I can pick up MeTV. I am SO excited and ridiculously pleased.

Now I’m taking a break because my back is screaming.

Office Honestly…

Happy Mid-week!

My home office is officially painted, trimmed, and even the ceiling is done — and I’m thrilled with how it turned out. It’s not “up and running” yet, though, because right now it’s pulling double duty as a storage zone for everything that needs to move into the bedroom, kitchen, new dining area, and living room.

Next up: painting and creating my new dining nook by the window in my oversized living room. I’m itching to start. I’m on the hunt for a deal on white, ultra-flat paint so I can dive in.

The dining area won’t be huge, but it’s going to be cozy, warm, and perfect for dinner, breakfast, or even an indoor picnic. I can already picture it finished.

And now… #The100DayProject wraps up in about two weeks. I’m going to miss the daily creative push, but honestly, I need a breather — a well-earned one — so I can decorate all the rooms in my palace that are already painted and waiting for their glow-up.

For now, I’m off to relax… and maybe squeeze in a few more home projects.
